Oblivion game crashing?

Question

can't play oblivion any more because the games crashes as soon as i enter the game. I am stuck in Mage Guild in Anvil! I think my saved games are corrupted. When I reinstalled the game, it worked fine, so the problem must be my saved files. I am sure this is not a hardware related problem. what do I do? is there a way to fix my corrpted saved games? please help, I cant start over again!

I heard about a game breaking bug if you have the Shivering Isles expansion installed. Bethesda should have a patch to fix it. Although your game might be lost
