This is not intended to be racist in anyway. I'm just curious. My partner comes from Korea and it always amazes me how many people mistake him for another nationality. To me, they all look very different.

My boyfriend is from Sri Lanka. We have been together for so long that I can tell if someone is Sri Lankan or Indian or Pakistani straight away by looking at their features and skin colour. Most people can't tell the difference at all and most people just assume he is 'Indian'.

YES those three have distinct features...Japanese and Koreans look a little more similar though. I have mistaken a Japanese for a Korean, and vice versa...but most of the time, I could differentiate them. People who are or have been around different ethnicities will be able to tell if they have taken the time to notice...

Yes! I'm 3/4 Japanese, and can tell the difference from Chinese people, Korean people, and Japanese people VERY clearly.

Yes, because I have Chinese, Korean and Japanese friends. The characteristics are quite diffrerent between the countries. It's very easy if you take the time to look!

Yes of course I could. Every race looks entirely different. It only takes one to take an interest in the human race to see that. I am an artist too so maybe I look deeper at people and see the differences clearly. I can usually tell where someone comes from by their surname also...that is if its their original name and not a name taken by a foreigner and adapted as his/her own.

Chinese and Japanese/Korean easy - in general Chinese have rounder features while Japanese have angular features
I am still learning about the difference between Korean and Japanese though, my new girlfriend is Korean so I have to learn fast! :P

I think Japanese eyes narrow downwards, chinese upwards not sure about koreans! Stronger jawlines for japs and koreans and a little rounder for chinese! Well, we just have to wait till they begin talking... Forgive me if i did not use the right terms here!

Oh easily, I think its about how many people of different ethinic groups you have met in your time. I have met all the above groups and can easily spot the difference. However, I do find it difficult to spot a German from say an English person.

To be completely honest i could only tell if i had there passports.
I suppose it the same as saying can you tell the difference between an English, Scottish and Swedish person just off looking at their face??
