INXS - Elegantly wasted.

Not until singing it at the top of my voice, in the car with my fiance, did I recently find out he was not singing 'Pillock in a Wastecoat'!

Still makes me smile every time I hear it!

The only one that really springs to mind is the first line of Bohemian Rhapsody. I heard it as 'Is this real life, is this just Battersea...'

Oh, and quick note to JG above me, if you listen very carefully to the end of Elegantly Wasted, you can hear Michael Hutchence singing 'we're better than Oasis'. I thought I'd misheard that til I did a little research!

When I first got The Libertines 2nd album I was listening to it in the car and I thought one of the songs was called 'I blame McFly' which I thought funny yet harsh. It was actually 'Arbeit Macht Frei' a song with much more serious conitations.

Though I blame McFly would make a good song.

Hot Chocolate's 'You Sexy Thing' has a line in it - "I believe in miracles" - as a child I misheard it as "I believe in knuckles". Also 10CC's 'I'm not in Love' - the line - 'Big boys don't cry' I misheard as 'Be question quiet'. They always confused me until I got a decent stereo, and when I hear them now, I still laugh at myself!

I misheard every single word in 'Yellow Ledbetter' - I think everyone did.
Are there even any real words in it?! Hehe!
Great song though.

My friend sang to Oasis wonderwall the other day in the car, and at the line,
'back beat the word is on the street that the fire in you heart is out'
she sang:
' the word is on the street theres a fire at your aunties house'

Oh how I laughed!

Bruce Springsteen's "Tenth Avenue Freeze-out" sure sounded to me like "Trapped devil in the freezer". Sounds stupid, but next time you hear it, put my lyrics in and see how it sounds.

Also, KISS singing "I wanna rock and roll all nite, and party every day" sounded to me like "I wanna rock and roll all nite, and hardly ever repay" (as in no hang-over, cotton-mouth, etc)
