also there is profootball-reference.com which has excellent information.
Keep in mind that a player will only have stats and be included if he plays in a game. There have been many players from the NFL that suited up for a game or two and never saw action. Those players would not appear on these sites statistics. Also there are players on NFL teams practice squad. They are part of the team but never suit up. They simply practice and wait for a chance. It is really hard to confirm a player if he was on a practice squad and never actually appeared in a regular season game.
If this is the case, try googling the persons name and see if there is any info, old news stories, out there about him.
