ok so i'm really scared..i brought a rabbit about a month ago, i asked a guy at the pet shop if it was a male or female, he said he 'thought' it was a female.. (i named her clover) So today i thought i would get another one, i made sure that it was a female and the lady that checked was certain it was a female. I took her home and my rabbit from before (clover) started chasing the other one and i swear they were mating. I am so confused..i don't want my rabbits to start breeding. I am pretty sure they are both females! Help Please!

Its not uncommon for young rabbits to be missexed. Especially at a pet store where the staff there may not be as experienced in determining the sex of a rabbit. I would take the rabbit to a vet just to be sure it is a female.

This web page may help you with that determination. It has good pictures that explain not only how they look, but how to actually do the checking: http://www.debmark.com/rabbits/sexing.htm

It could still be a female. Its not uncommon for the rabbits to mount other rabbits when its time to breed.

Hope you find this helpful.

This sounds a bit gross but the way to tell for sure is to pop out the bunny's genitals. If its a boy a penis will pop out if its a girl there wont be anything to pop out. If there's a male and a female seperating or neutering is the only way to stop them mating.

You can take both in to the vets to be sexed (the vet looks and tells you what you have, it should be free). That way you'll know for sure.

Check online for house rabbit societys, they have all sorts of info on how to introduce two females so they bond quickly.

If you cant sx your rabbits you need to take them to the vets, if you are in the uk you need to get them vaccinated anyway.

You either have a female and a male if they are both m or f then this is a dominance thing.

Best to get them checked out and then get them neutered anyway :)
