Items like laptops often have their own transformer than can cope with a range of input. Check your item. (It will still need a plug adaptor). If it doesn't have a transformer, something built for 240v will not do well on 110v.

It depends on your resort. Some are on 110 others 220 and others a combination of both. To be safe carry an adapter kit available at any electonics store.

Most likely they are using the American system of 110volts
and 60 cycles and you cannot correct that with a plug.

Leave your electrical appliances at home.
