English isn't the problem, it's trust and honesty where people have only come out of 15 years of conflict within the last 3 years......

Train them as part of a brilliant future investment, be courteous to them , and be open to their problems and worries and treat them with respect. In doing this they will respond with positiveness and reward you with excellent service, plus remember that they are only 3rd world workforce, their needs and wants and ideas are human, treat them as such, and good luck.

What part of Africa? If it is in Equatorial Guinea, all you need is a whip and a gun. Slavery is commonplace there still. Otherwise, why not try the same methods as you would in London for any other work force? I think you'll find that, regardless of where people live, we are all basically the same and want to be treated with kindness and dignity.

Getting rid of the first world attitude would be a start. Third world is an inaccurate value judgement. I think you have started a high risk venture. Treat your people with respect and I am sure they will respond. Good luck - you will probably need it.
