Why is it so much harder to make friends when you get older? Everyone seems so narrow minded and evil,...anyone with me on this?

I'm with you Battle Cat... BUT... What I do think what is happening is that when we are younger, we depend on our families first, so we tolerate more from our "friends"... BUT... As we grow older, before we marry and have children, we require more from our "friends" and that's when we see the evil stuff... When I was a kid, my Grandmom would always say, "In life you will have many acquaintances, but only a select few friends."... I did not understand her then, but i really understand her now...

Depends on the culture. Stateside, people are pushed to be competitive, individualistic, and time-obsessed, which are all rather antagonistic to the process of friendship forgery.

I do agree! Our friends are entertaining to be around but sh it sometimes they are competitive which gets really tiresome! I have broken ties with one as all she did was compare me to her life and ALWAYS tried to make herself sound better, I was so sick of that s hit!

Judging from my friends & my self, I do not quite agree with what you say.
It's never easy to make friends, yet it is possible and it works just fine!

That's really sad. Maybe because you are more knowledgeable on people and their faults? Be a bit more forgiving my friend, non of us are perfect believe me!
