How unbelievably cruel!! A parent should want their child to grow up and to have their independence!! I have had fights with my Dad where he has told me if I walked out the door to never come back but he said it in anger and didn't mean it!! If these people are this cruel then why would you want any more of it?? Maybe that is where your true freedom is going to come from!!

No, but my mom beat me when I was little and locked me out of the house. She would ignore me for days when she got mad at me. She was very messed up.
If your parents said that, I am sorry for you. That is very unloving and also manipulative. It's wrong to tell someone you can't leave or you will be rejected forever.
I wish you knew Jesus Christ. He's my God. He is the one who loves us all. He rescued me from emotional, physical and spiritual death when I was 18. I planned how to kill myself, but then called a crisis line. A person on the line got me in touch with some Christians. I hung around them for a while and decided I wanted Jesus to come in and take care and control of my life. I put him in charge on October 21, 1971, on a Thursday night between 7:30 and 9:00 PM, in San Antonio, Texas. I've never, ever been sorry I gave my life to him. No matter how often or how badly I ever messed up Jesus has never threatened to take his love away or to kick me out of his family. His love is forever. I wish you would just talk to him, that's all prayer is. He wants to help you and you know you need help and hope. That's why you wrote your question. Don't lose heart, sweetie!

No. Nor would I ever say that to one of my kids. A parents job is to teach you how to survive in this world, have social skills, an education, a belief system - and then send you out to make your way!

No. That would be messed up and I really then wouldn't want to talk to them or see them again.
