Are we at such a tipping point for turmoil as was the case in world war one, with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand?
I just want speculation... do you feel anxious about our situation?

There is no such thing as a two-bit country. Not only are you discounting a whole population of people, you are forgetting that everyone is listened to when they're pointing a powerful weapon at your head. That's why these countries want nukes, they want to be listened to, and that's exactly what we are having trouble adapting to. We're supposed to at least seem interested in other countries...

If that psycopathic dwarf was offed, give the shooter the Nobel Peace Prize ! Preferrably it would have been a member of the Iranian opposition.
One more terrorist thug gone, one less to worry about ....

An Assassination or even attempted assassination of Ahmadinejad in New York would have added fuel the fire and created more justification on the part of the extremists to slaughter those who fail to submit to the Muslim religion. It probably would have lead to more Muslims becoming involved in Al Quaeda like groups and may have led to Iran and other Middle East countries to declare overt war.
In regards to whether I feel anxious or not about our precarious situation, my grandfather lived and worked in Iran as a engineer for a number of years and he refused to bring the family over there because he felt that it was unsafe even then back in the 1950s. Al Qaeda makes comments claiming that "battle, animosity, and hatred - directed from the Muslim to the infidel - is the foundation of our religion. And we consider this a justice and kindness to them." Yes, that makes me nervous because there are those who follow them in increasing numbers or provide them with financial/weapon support including governments.

I would say that it would. We are or are supposed to be an upright and peaceful nation, yet our government has been less then honest and murderous abroad. so, you can expect other nations to treat us the same way that we treat them. the sad thing about America is that America does not always tell the truth. A good example is the Iraq War, where thousands of people are dying every few month and hundreds of thousands have died since this war began.
Exactly how much do you readers know and do you people really know truth from American government lies?
If our government lies would the media always expose government wrongdoing?
Is Clinton's scandal more worthy of publication, than a cover up of an illegal and murderous war?

Violence begets violence. I'm glad nobody tried to off the crazy bastard; his worthless little life isn't worth the disaster that would have ensued.
Make no mistake, though. That "two bit country" is going to have nuclear capability before you can say "irrelevant" if we don't start paying real attention in a quick hurry.

That's quite as insightful question. In a history book on WW I that I have, there is a picture of Hitler smiling after war was declared on England and France. Now we have Christiano-Fascists and Islam o-Fascists running governments.(fascism means absolute), so they all think they are right and no compromise...but the world has weapons to destroy itself. Its scary !

Not a world war.. but total chaos where you would have a bomb at every corner you turn to .. .
Iraq is enough to show what USA intervention does
Best way to deal with is to give total security and peace in Shiite countires... so people can realize realities & act. Otherwise sanctions and Lee Bolinger speeches is only feeding chaos .

No...you are placing way too much importance on Iran. They are a two bit country run by a two bit crazy dictator who has delusions of grandeur.
The Ayatollah would have stepped up and appointed another loser to replace him.

No. The people of Iran would dance in the streets if their Hitler was killed. Even if they liked him, they would still be too afraid to attack us.
