1) Depends on what you mean by "successful." Love Me Do hit 17, so I think it counts.
2) Liverpool. Easy.
3) Marketing, marketing, marketing.
4) Very. What sort of details are you looking for?
5) Two things: First, Brian Epstein's death, which ties into my third answer. Second, their own differing directions they were taking in later albums. Anyone who says Yoko deserves a punch in the neck.
6) Pop, unequivocally.

I'm not an encyclopedia on Beatles-related stuff, but I'll give this a try.

1. "Love Me Do" from the album Please Please Me. Not only was it their first single, but it was their first #1 single, as shown in the album 1.

2. They originated in Liverpool, England.

3. Uh...I guess they were unique and were critically acclaimed from their first album. Many of their songs were in the Top 10 charts from the beginning.

4. Many things. The most common answer probably would be Yoko Ono. Other things may include the events that happened while recording The White Album, noticeably fewer songs being composed together, George Harrison writing more, etc.

5. There is no way to describe what genre they were. They experimented with many genres. I guess you could say that their earlier works were pop and rock and roll, while the other works are other genres. Psychedelic music seemed to be somewhat common.

In 1962, The Beatles released Love Me Do which made the charts in Britain and went as high as 17 so it would have to be considered a success. Please Please Me was their first #1 released in 1963.
They were from Liverpool.
Marketing was a huge factor in their success but their sound, which was considered as new, and skill as musicians was too. Having each instrument at a level you could hear was a part of the catch in my opinion.
The Beatles were extremely successful financially but could have done a lot better if Epstein had had more experience.
The Beatles simply grew apart.
There were mostly pop.

1. In their own country, I believe it was 1963 with "From Me To You."
2. Liverpool, England.
3. They wrote extremely catchy songs, and then revolutionized music later in their career. Rather than just having a string of hits, every thing they put out was good.
4. Good question...
5. Each member wanted to try different things that the rest of the band wasn't into. George wanted to write more songs instead of being in John and Paul's shadow. Paul was trying to take creative control of the band. John had grown bored with the band and wanted to try new things. They all began to argue a lot.
6. Rock & Roll or Classic Rock.
