Settle down everyone, the worst team is still the Oakland Raiders. Don't let a 2-2 record fool you. The teams they have beaten are the Cleveland Browns, which is a team even the 2-14 Raiders of last year managed to beat and the Miami Tuna Cans, who are yet to find their first win.

When they play quality teams, we will see which team is the worst in the AFC West. But here is a preliminary ranking of the AFC West in order from best to worst:

1) San Diego Chargers: Yes, they're 2-3. But two of these losses were to the red-hot Patriots and the surprisingly powerful Packers. The Chiefs loss was one of those that they had until the final minutes. The Chargers are angry with themselves and chock full of talent. Expect another divisional beatdown this year.

2) Denver Broncos: WHAT?!? NUMBER TWO?!? You are stupid!!! I know. But Mike Shanahan is too good of a coach and their losses are to Peyton Manning, the Jaguars, and the team above them. They played an angry Chargers team and lost. Bad. But they are still miles ahead of the Raiders in terms of offensive consistency.

3) Kansas City Chiefs: Old. Worn Down. These words come to mind when describing the Chiefs... Huard is not comfortable, Johnson is not the L.J. of last year, and the tight end is their best player right now. They can still move the ball, however.

4) Oakland Raiders: Note: this is subject to change, but beating Cleveland and Miami does not earn a gold star in my book. If they look even decent against the Chargers, I might put them above the Chiefs.

The entire AFC west is so bad, it's hard to say who's going to end up being the worst. The Chiefs have no offense, but their defense is top 10 at least, the only thing giving them a chance. The Chargers are mired in a mess in nearly every aspect of the game, and only looked good Sunday cuz they were playing the Broncos. The Raiders beat the Dolphins, which my local high school team could probably rack up 100 yds rushing against. And they BARELY squeaked by the Browns, who, though they are improving are still not there yet. If you look at all this, it has to be a toss up between the Chargers and the Broncos, because both the Raiders and Chiefs have better defenses this year than the other 2 have thus far. Lot of season left but if you're a fan of any of these teams, its' probably going to be a long season. Sadly I'm a Chiefs fan.

I am originally from Colorado and I hate the Broncos right up there with Raider fans. But the Broncos are far from the worst in the West.

1. San Diego is still the top teir team and thats just due to talent only.

2. Denver is here by default and they will be better, just hit a SD team with built up emotions and exploded on them when Denver had an off day after Henry test came back positive which may have caused a distraction. S. Young will help out and will take over if and when Henry goes bye bye.

3. Oakland only due to their defense and I they get Rhodes back and they may have a solid backfield.

4. Kansas City is in a world of hurt and LJ needs to step up and they need to flush that entire defense. I like Herm Edwards, but he really needs to stick to being a coordinator. Oakland and Kansas City I think will flip flop their place but I think in the end this is where they will end.

Even with a depleted roster, the Broncos are still a decent team. They're a Shanahan system team, so they dont rely on player talent as much as they do a players ability to play his role in the system - thats how they're always able to be so effective year in and year out with their blocking and running, despite playing musical linemen and musical tailbacks every year...depth isnt as important. That being said, they're not playing that system very well so far this year. Here's how I see the AFC West.

1) Raiders: Playing with a chip on their shoulder all season. New O-Line coach solving the protection and run blocking problems of last season. Walter's out and they have a decent QB (McCown) and one that may prove actually good (Culpepper), solving their biggest problem. Running game restored to 2005's productive levels, and with plenty of downhill bulldozing talent between Rhodes and Jordan. Defense not as hot on paper as last year, but they're getting good stops in the red zone and getting pressure into the backfield. Miami was a joke, but Cleveland is proving good this year too, and they almost beat Denver before Shanahan started all this kicker-icing shenanigans....

2) Chargers: Turner doesnt know what to do with his talent when he doesnt have an Aikman behind center to lean on. LTs been underutilized but that wont last forever, he's one of the few players that really can put a team on his shoulders and carry it singlehandedly. Rivers will continue to mature, and needs to rely on Gates and LT's athleticism and versatility to help him turn big plays. They won last year being unconventional and should go back to that outside the box style. Defensively, they tire easily, which opponents have so far exposed and exploited, but their production will improve once the offense can keep them off the field and let Merriman have freer reign to cause havoc.

3) Broncos: Running never their problem, even with Henry facing a year suspension. They've made more nameless tailbacks into stars over te years than USC. Cutler was a bad draft, he's a deep ball QB and they get better results with a short passing west coast style of QB. If Cutler can improve his awareness and accuracy, though, he can start keeping drives alive. Defensively, they should start stuffing the box more and relying on their two shutdown corners in man coverage, make opponents beat them in the air and hopefully force a few turnovers for the offense to capitalize on.

4) Chiefs: Total mess. The coach doesnt have the players to run his system yet, they have no depth at QB or really any position except RB. Serious rebuilding mode. They need linemen, they need a QB, they need basically everything. When a lower pick rookie WR like Dwayne Bowe is your outstanding wideout, you know your passing game is in trouble. They need to trade LJ and Gonzo while they still have some value, get a corps of good young talent or draft picks, and start working on the next era.

Whoever those all human beings is that say the Chiefs protection sucks have for sure no longer watched the Chiefs protection play this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. they're the #3 protection interior the league precise now for entire yards and #9 for entire factors. Thats a surprisingly reliable protection. The worst group precise now may be the Chargers. Norv Turner and AJ Smith have that group in finished disarray.

Denver offense is still good. Their biggest problem, and one they can't seem to fix, is their D. Going into the season it looked like their D would be a top 10 in the league. They have not even come close. As far as worse in the AFC West? I'd still say KC is at this point.

The Broncos might be in trouble, but they are not the worst in the AFC West.

The Cheifs and Raiders are still fighting over that title. But I don't see Oakland crawling out of the toilet any time soon.

The Chargers are not the powerhouse that they were last year and the division will come down to Denver and SD.

I think the "Chefs" will own that dubious distinction at seasons end. Although A.J.Smith has done a great job of screwing up the Chargers.Fire a 14-2 Coach, let both the Offensive & Defensive co-ordinators get out of town.A.J. needs a bit or "Tar & Feather" action on his stupid behind!!

Right now they are. There defense is not stopping the run at all, and they have amassed alot of injuries as well. They will be lucky to reach 8-8 this season.
