There's a lot to get through before then, Mischievous night, school hols, Halloween, Bonfires etc....but it's certainly looming on the horizon.

Honestly, it get's more commercial each year, with less emphasis on it's meaning. Anyone agree?

I agree with you about the commercialness of each holiday. I am just hoping to be home for Christmas this year. I am in Iraq now and we should be home for the holidays?
Being away from family and friends, you really miss the simple things in life. That is why I agree with you. Holidays should be about being with family and friends. Not going to the stores to see what "sales" are there?
I cant wait to go home. This will be the 1st Christmas home in 3 years...
Take care.

Definitely! I remember in Sainsbury's seeing all the Christmas stuff in September!!! I think its a terrible shame that the spirit of Christmas [goodwill and all that] has been lost in favour of the now 'give me' attitude - the more expensive the better. I would hate to have children these day's and feel so sorry for the poor parents who have to go through it every year because it seems that, whatever they do and whatever the purchase, its never enough.

The dollars stores near where I live had Christmas stuff since the Fourth of July. And my neighbor told me LAST month that she was done with most of her Chirstmas shopping already.
