I certainly feel for you. I had horrible heartburn during my pregnancies and couldn't use Tums or Rolaids either. Sometimes is was from my stomach being too full and then a glass of root beer took care of that - a nice burp can really settle things down. Other times it seemed that it was from having an empty stomach and so a little something to eat (like a couple crackers or a piece of toast), a glass of milk - I preferred chocolate milk for heartburn (Crystal was the best for me) or even a glass of ICE water. Also, when you're in bed and start feeling heartburn, roll to your left side. It repositions your stomach and allows any gases that might be trapped to be released. A lot of the time, that's all it takes. I hope this is helpful to you. Good luck & God bless :o)

I so feel for you... my little one is 4 weeks old now but all through the pregnancy I had the worst heartburn ever and it always was worse at nite! I too had a hard time with the tums! I found that drinking milk helped a bit and sleeping proped up on pillows so to avoid lying flat. Also I heard to not eat any fruit after a heavy meal as it ferments in your tummy and then causes heartburn! Eat small frequent meals too instead of heavy ones! Good luck with this! All the best!

I have been the same. Everything gives me heartburn. I have heartburn right now as a matter of fact. I cant have a hot drink late at night because it makes it worse, and I cant take Gaviscon (heartburn remedy) because it makes me vomit. And yes, water seems to shake everything up and bring it to the surface lol

And if i DONT eat, i feel sick, so I have to eat, esepcially if i am planning to stay up late .

What can work is very chilled water, sometimes cold milk helps. I was told that eating three or four almonds helps although i havent tried this myself.

Edited to add: ANd do try to cut down heavily on processed foods, all the unhealthy stuff, cakes, pies etc. All that is a recipe for disaster. Try to cook lots of homemade stews, casseroles etc, things with vegetables in them. You dont want to eat stuff thats gonna repeat on you!!

I personally avoid heavy hot meals late at night. I would also go see your doctor, i got these fab tablets from mine and they help the heartburn subside while i am sleeping. there is no need to suffer through it.

Good luck.

My son is 7 months now but I used to get heartburn all the time when I was pregnant w/ him. Maybe try drinking a lot of clear fluids like water and maybe milk to help it. Good luck!

Could be reflux instead of heartburn.
