So i found a starfish at the beach and i took it out and it didn't dry it just got really soggy. I was wondering how you dry it out so it preserves.

leve it in the sun because the will evaporate into the air and turn into water vapor and eventually go to the clouds(the water out of the starfish not the starfish its self)

It should go from soggy to dry...be patient. You can even dry them in different, unusual positions.

You don't. You put it back in the ocean so it survives, rather than exploiting the wildlife for your own selfish "decorations".
