a + b + c = 18
abc = 192
Factor 192, and get 2^6 * 3. That means one of a, b, c is an even multiple of 3. So, either a, b, or c has to be 6, leaving the other two to have a product of 32. That means the other two digits has to be 4 and 8, thus giving us the answer 468.

Well, I kinda did it similar, but a little different.
Factor 192... and you get 2 *2 * 2 * 2* 2 * 2 *3. Now, since the numbers are ascending they can not be the same. You know that 3 cant be a number, because then with 2^6, the only way to split them up so you have single digits is 2^3 2^3 so they both equal 8. You also know that 3*2 = 6 and 3 * 2 * 2 = 12.... so, the only pairing with a 3 that will yeild a single number is 3 * 2... so you know 6 is one number.
Now you're left with 2^5. Lets look at the list of possibilities.
2^5 = 32
2^4 = 16
2 ^ 3 = 8
2^2 = 4
2 ^ 1 = 2
Of those, there are only 3 single digits, 2, 4, and 8. Using 2 would leave you with 2^4 or 16, so thats not possible. The only choices are 4 and 8.
So, you know the numbers are 6, 4, and 8.... they are ascending... so its 468.

Say that the number looks like ABC
The factorization of 192 is 2^6*3. Lets list all the ways that 192 can be partitioned into three sets of its factors, with no factor being double digits, and with the digits in ascending (or to be more general, non-decreasing) order
3 8 8
4 6 8
are the only two possibilities. If you look 3+8+8 = 19, and 4+6+8 = 18... so the answer is 468

a "please" would be nice...
anyway here goes:
start by finding a a number in ascending order that equal 18. 567 is a good one, we'll start with that. then multiply them. That = 210, so we have to go down some (our target is 192). You can lower the number by spreading out your numbers some, ie subtract one from 5 and add one to 7. This will lower your product but give you the same sum. so let's try 468. oh look, that's right, and we got it on the second guess!

u devide 18 by 3 giving u 6, so thats the middle number, u know that they are in order, so what you would do is go by trial and error.
