Its only so in India. Look elsewhere. Cricketers are paid CRAZY money in India. The minimum a person earns in India in cricket is 25 lakhs and max is around 50 lakhs. That is not a small amount. And yea, the ads and endorsements earn them so much money.

But its different outside India. Forget Sachin and compare Dhoni with Flintoff. Dhoni has 11 sports bikes, apart from a couple of cars, whereas Freddie has 2-3 Harleys and a so-so car.

Everyone envies Indians coz the kinda superstardom that the Indian cricketers receive is parallel to none.

And I think the focus should slowly start on the other sports as well. We need to show the world that not only our cricketers but other athletes too are fantastic and RICH ! :-)

Most of the money paid to the cricketers are from the revenue generated by cricket. Unfortunately other games
do not generate not even 505 of the revenue generated by cricket. Hence there is no point in grumbling for the huge amounts played to cricketers as they and their families are equally targetted when the plahyers fare poorly, whereas no player from other sports has to face such a situation in India.

What is there in other sports. Indians sponsor cricket. So cricket game gets funds. The peoples funds are paid to cricket players. Why should we feel jealous or greedy about who gets how much why so much and so on.

I was a very good circket player much better than all the players out there but did not play at any level but I am not greedy or jealous.

It is not a bad thing that cricketers earn so much money. But what I find annoying is that Tax payer's money is sometimes given to these players despite them making a gazillion from sponsorship deals and match fees. The link that I am providing is just something that these players were awarded after winning the Twenty20 World Cup.

Too many people are watching cricket when compared to other games. So these players are making good revenue for the board. So there is no point in complaining that cricketers are getting highly paid. Afterall it is a business.. They are making more business and they are getting their share.. Thats all....

Though it is true that cricket earns high revenue,at least a part can be spared to other sports.
The difference in the amounts paid to seniors and juniors if also very high, since the contribution of the seniors is not better to that extent.

Cricketers worked hard to get to where they are, it aint easy to reach their position of attaining so much earnings(I presume you are referring to Cricketers in India). We dont need to feel envious about these cricketers new fortune, they may have been helping out the people around them anyway on their own.
