brian's song. easy. it's the only football movie that could actually make a few hardcore football guys tear up a little then claim that they just have dirt in their eyes. i enjoyed friday night lights because i'm from texas and it was a pretty good portrail of friday night high school football here. the hits during the games were just a little over the top. someone needs to tell the hollywood producers that not every hit in a football movie has to be bonecrushing. sometimes ankle tackles are made too.

1. Rudy: shows the inspirational, work ethic side of football.
2. Remeber the Titans: shows the idea of "team" being able to overcome racial tensions.

I have a vote for worst football movies: Any Given Sunday showcases some of the worst aspects of football (people who are too consumed by the game and winning to focus on things that really matter in life) plus they basically just prove many people's worst stereotypes about football. Any Given Sunday has probably the best cast of any of the football movies but the themes are poor.

Friday Night Lights is a good overall story about doing your best in a bad situation but it portrays the parents and town as basically saying "go ahead wreck your future health and education for the sake of a state championship or football glory." BTW it is based on a true story written by an author who observed the town and football team for the season. After the book came out the people in the town felt like it showed them as idiotic rednecks that they tried to either sue the author or get the movie changed.

All of my top three have already been named, but I'll add them again.

1. The Longest Yard (the original)
2. Brian's Song (again, the original)
3. Everybody's All-American

Friday Night Lights is my favorite, awesome soundtrack and the movie really moved me...

one movie that no one here mentioned is All the Right Moves, from like 1983... that was a cool movie, maybe not the best ever, but memorable...
