I would rather read a book, because I am usually diappointed by the movie if I have read the book. Sometimes doesn't seem like a lot of time in my life for reading a good book very fast. I keep it with me in the car and read before work and at lunch.

watching a movie is like reading a book through scanning. Lots and lots of details are cropped out. Say for example the movie Da Vinci Code. or the Harry Potter, I guess everyone who have read the book first then watched the movie later would certainly agree with me.

If I've read a book, and they make it into amovie later, I'll go see it. But they seem to leave out things that I thought were important to the story. For example, in "Cujo" by Stephen King, parts of the book were written from the dog's point of view, and I thought that would have shown WHY the dog did what he did, but I guess that wasn't what the director wanted

Usually I've read the book before the movie comes out, but I'll still see & enjoy the film like Bridget Jones or The Devil Wears Prada.

Read the book definitely because the book can go so much more in depth than the movie so you can really get into it.
