The Sixth Sense scared me many times. Catching a glimpse of the ghost walk past the little boy into the kitchen, and the boy is thinking it was his Mom and then he checks to find out it is some scary dead woman. The part when he is under the tent hiding from the something and then the little girl ghost appears in the tent with him! Scared the crap out of me!

Jaws , the entire movie , and here's why . I was only 13 1/2 when Jaws was released . It was 'R' rated but my friend and I both took a shot at getting in . We went on opening day and much to our surprise the line was a couple of blocks long . Anyways , we got to the ticket window and simply paid for our tickets and got through , no questions asked !
Everyone knows the movie , so I'll skip that part , but things were different when we got home . For months after , neither one of us could get into a pool without feeling a sense of fear or panic . We both knew it was only a pool but that movie just kept us wonderin and we couldn't get it out of our heads .
May not have the same impact in today's world with today's kids and today's horror movies , but considering our age and the era of movies , this one had a deep impact .

well the Descent wasnt really scary but 1 scene that was probably the scariest scene in the entire movie was when the camera was pointed to 1 of the girls and there was that beast behind her Edit: Jana M talking about the Exorcism of Emily Rose. that was also a really remeberable moment for horror movies.

AAAaaargh......I'm gonna hate myself for giving this answer.
I am not into the horror and suspense stuff at all, if the blood runs and runs I get desensitized very quickly, and death sort
of loses it's sting.
The little kid on the tricycle going trough the empty abandoned Hotel Halls in
The Shining was as creepy as it would get.
The camera angle, the sound as the wheels alternated between
carpet and wooden floor.
And everytime he turned a corner my heart stopped.....nothing
again !!.

The hills have Eyes! Movies are getting scarier every year! The classics are still good like Carrie, and Friday the 13th but the graphics and make up and stuff aren't as realistic as today...
