Favre's consecutive starts for sure. Quarterback is a tough position to play, an easy way to put this is, Favre is a god. I've watched the Packers ever since I can remember, and I have yet to see another QB start, it's gonna be a sad day for many when he retires....somewhere along the lines of Yzerman retiring.
Chelios is just a freak of nature, a man of steel.

See, Chelios' 1500 games aren't consecutive, and it's not the record in the NHL (Howe holds the record). Favre however does hold the record for most consecutive by a QB (come on, punters don't count), and he played through many tough times (drug-problems, injuries, wife had cancer, etc...). So I'd say Favre's 243 consecutive games streak is more impressive, even though it's probably tougher to do what Chelios has done.
oh, btw, go PACK!

If Chelios had played 1500 consecutive games, then it would be more impressive. Since they are not, and given the beating that Brett Farve has taken during that time, Brett Favre has the most impressive games played stat.

Brett Favre's consecutive game streak.
I don't think anyone should compare the two different sports; just think of how big of an accomplishment their feats are in relation to their OWN sport. Obviously, Cheliosaurus is pretty amazing. So is Favre. Favre broke a record though, Cheli hasn't yet. Favre edges Cheli.
PS I used to love Brett Favre... but, uhhhh, there's no need to bring the past up in this!!

Even though I am a much bigger fan of hockey than football, Favre's streak is the more impressive of the two.
To play that many consecutive games as a QB in the NFL is a record that may never be broken. OK, never say never, so it might get broken about the same time as DiMaggio's streak of 58 consecutive games getting a hit.

An 82 game schedule vs. a 16 game schedule. I don't care if Chelios is not consecutive. He is 45 and doesn't get 6 days off between games. Not to say Farve's is not impressive, but I'll take Cheli.

Both feats are impressive, but with 10 others having played that many games in the NHL, I'd have to go with Favre. QB is a tough position to play that many in a row.

I have to go with Cheli, and earlier poster stated 82 games to 16. Hockey can be more brutal than football, not to take anything away from football. It too is a rough sport but not on a constant basis as hockey. As for Favre, he has already proven to be worthy as one of the greatest quarterbacks of the NFL. Do they both qualify for AARP yet?

Big fan of Favre, but Chris Chelios' 1,500 games is more impressive because he is more involved with the physicality of the game as opposed to a quarterback who has the protection of his offensive linemen. Not to say that he doesn't get hit, its just that he isn't as exposed to it as a hockey player.

Football is a brutal game and playing qb is just asking to get creamed. The fact Favre has played all those games makes him one of the toughest guys on the planet in my books.
