When someone says "prolly" for "probably" , my stomach does flips . .It's like hearing chalk going the wrong way on a chalk board . Like - who doesn't have enough time to add one more syllable ?

Also, it drives me crazy when upper management people at my work come up with all of these acronyms for different things. After a while, all the cutesy phrases make me nauseaus. It goes along with all of their politically correct "doublespeak". Ughhhh. Sometimes I wonder why they spend so much time on useless stuff. Don't they have better things to do?

"gunna" = going to, "dunno" = don't know, "whatcha" = what are you . . . and an REALLY irritating one is "wassup?" for what's up?

Listening to spoken English today, even in the professional sectors, is sort of like watching two trains about to have a spectacular head-on wreck and not being able to do anything about it.

Also, SMS contactions ( idk, u, b4, 2c, 4evr, cu, etc. ) are slowly poisoning a once-great language.

A-a-a-a-r-r-r-g-g-g-h-h ! ! ! :-)
