I have a friend JUST like that and I know she means well, but I have clinical depression and am on Prozac. She doesn't understand that it is very hard for me to "meet new people" "talk to your neighbors" etc. I feel she is not even on the same planet as I am sometimes.

Honestly, sometimes I feel like smacking them upside the head.

Ultimately, though, they're right. We should all feel blessed to even be given the opportunity to experience existence as a human. Good and bad experiences, because we're given the opportunity to learn from both.

that actualy reminds me of something I was reading about depression..

where it becomes a problem for the depressed person when they try to tell others because everybody is always telling them
"ohh what do you have to be upset about..you have your job, family & friends who love you, etc...etc..

& seriously telling that to a depressed person is like telling a deaf person to listen to what is being said to them..

i never tell anybody that because everyone has their reason to be down. you do not know what they feel till you walk in their shoes.i always try to make them feel better by just talking and laughing with them.

pissed off whith words " things will get better" , "don't worry" and that kind of crap.
It all basically meaning that they brush you off instead of listening and give you moral support.
Those are indifferent people who are trying to get out as fast as possible.
But when it is their turn............they wonder why they are surprised to get the same reaction.
Some people should reflect sometimes.

In my head I am stabbing them in the eye with a pen..
