i'm actually seeking reasons..

but when i do want the truth i'll accept it only when i find it on my own..

the truth is that much more powerful and rewarding when you discover it through your own endeavors..

Everyone should seek truth. The alternative you cite is to be a passive vessel hoping to be filled up by another but there are several things wrong with that.
1) How can you be sure who or what is an authority?
2) A supposed authority is often wrong in what they tell either because a) they are mistaken or b) they willfully don't tell you the truth

It would be both, and also depending what kind of truth an authority would deliver. If it is objective truth(concerning laws, rules etc)-then that is undisputable, but if the authority is only delivering what is called a belief or an opinion, then i would still seek for th truth.
I always seek for the truth, neverending questions arise in my mind why a certain thing, consequence, or effect falls into its place the way it is. I believe when a proper reason is reached, then, my mind would settle peacefully.

I seek the truth. I have a good sense of what is true and what is a lie. I will keep looking and pushing until the truth comes out. It was never fun being my child and trying to lie to me. I would gently tug until they sighed and gave up. I would never yell, though. Just trying to seek the truth.

I don't trust authority, and it has caused me nothing but trouble in my life and career. Still, I am pretty successful.

I wonder if many who have answered this question really seek the truth or if they seek the answer that best justifies their own preconceived notion of what the truth should be.
People usually find what they are looking for.

Yes, I do seek truth. I think that accepting something just because somebody higher up tells you so shows gullibility and unintelligence.

My only authority is God, and I believe He knows the only so-called 'truth', and He's given us what we need to survive.
So basically; I just go be happy and let Him deal with that.

Seeking is a lot of work so I prefer that someone (who has already done all of that work) just tell me what happened.

The doesn't mean that I won't evaluate what they say.. but if they are really boring I will just nap while they are talking.
