I was reading so many comments about how it's racist that there is a Black Entertainment Television. I'm just here thinking that it's really sad that we even need one. If people would be fair and not make it so hard for other races to be equally represented in television then we wouldn't even need a BET.
I feel the same way about affirmative action, it's a shame that we need laws to make sure that other races aren't excluded from colleges and jobs. Seriously, these things aren't racist, they protect people of color from being left out of a dominantly white America.

I believe all groups should have a forum for their views.I'm white and watch BET for entertainment and to get others view on things.I agree with you about affirmative action.I hate to say this and I know it will sound prejudice but at the rate thing's are going both you and I , white America are fast becoming minorities.

i feel that black people love to freaking alienate themselves all the time. comedians make black and white jokes all the time making it look like white people are boring and the blacks are awesome. IF white people started a WET channel (White Entertainment Channel) all the blacks and their grandmas would flip the s**t!. you gotta be honest with yallselfs. back off and look at it from a detached point of view...yall dont got it that bad. yall got the same oportunities as whites.. theres just as much poor white, chinese, hindu,white, yellow, purple people as there is black people. but yall just like to make it seem like "OH we got it so bad, the man trys to bring us dow." honestly thats played out, this is life and you get what you put into it. i do agree with you in the fact that it is a shame for black people to have a "BET" talk about segregation. black entertainer awards too they got an award show for black people only. holy crapoly . you should really think about the stuff you write because oviously youdont know what your talking about. its not like BET is the only channel that alows black people on it. every channel has black people on it. Blacks need to get over this whole sore feeling thing. yall dont see the whites hating on the english for years of opresion do yall? and its not even about that. the main thing is that we need to accept that we are infact all equal and that no one is going to come down from heaven and give you some miracle that makes your life amazingly care free and perfect. we are all in this we are americans we are one quit trying to be something else, and if you feel the need to break off dont complain about how "its a shame we gotta have things like BET"

I can't see why anyone would think it was racist that their is a Black entertainment station, that's only one station compared to how many on dish network??? that are all white, but who's keeping score.Why do we concern ourselves with such petty things, anything just to try to ruffle someone else feathers. To the asker, don't take the bait and let little things like this get to you, some do it on purpose you know.

It's not sad. But as for laws to make sure an equal amount enters colleges, that is wrong, it should be based on accomplishments.

I'd prefer we keep BET around, it keeps some of the raunchier shows off standard television.

what's wrong with BET? they are channels for every race out there...check out direct tv or digital cable...and all the spanish channels on tv? come on...why must people complain about BET? they always need to voice a complaint when something is succeeding
