How can I be sure I'm being logical in the way I analize thing, and the way I reach conclusions? Are there rules I can follow?. Are there other rules I have to make sure I'm not following so I don't do the same mistake/s many do?

In Modernist philosophy, logic is the very basis of reasoning. It is the essential tool and rules that denotes what can be "allowed." Consider, for example, the law of non-contradiction. It states that a thing cannot both "be" and "not be." For example, either you are reading this or you are not reading this, because you cannot be both reading AND not reading it--they are mutually exclusive categories.

In contrast, postmodern thinkers begin to open the possibilities outside of "traditional logic." One needs only look at quantuum physics and the example of Schodinger's cat to see how something can contradict the Law of contradiction itself.

Logic is often termed as the Science of reasoning. Some times it is also called the art of arguing.

There are definite rules, exercises, and one has to owork these things out. Basically one must begin with Aristotlean Deductive Logic, which is also called formal logic. There are many books on deductive logic, written by many people all over the world. Start from this.

Logic refers to a process of proceeding from a premise to a conclusion. There are various systems of formal manipulation to do this. The oldest and best known is Aristotelian logic which tried to reduce most statements to syllogistic form ( e.g. All A is B; C is A, therefore C is B ). Under this system you can disprove something but proceeding "logically" from the assumption that it is correct to reach a conclusion that you know to be false. This is the famous "reductio ad absurdum". There are other logical systems including Boolean logic and even "fuzzy logic", developed by the Iranian-American mathematician Lofti Zadeh. Being logical does not mean that one is rational since starting with erroneous assumptions will allow one to reach logical conclusions which are false but one might not know it.

Life does not ve any logic. Why things happen differently for different people is hard to explain. U try to find a reason for every action and label it right. It all depends on ur own mind set, what u like and do not like, ur knowledge which is also limited as u do not know universal truths. Everything has scope for betterment. IF U LEARN TO ACCEPT SITUATIONS AND PERSONS AS THEY R AND ANALYZE THEIR BEHAVIOUR from their point of view u will be less judgemental. Other thing which we need to observe is whether our own thinking and judgement is doing any good for us or we need to modify our thoghts so that we progress for better in life. This attitude will give u the key to ur queries.
