I was remembering a children's story about the sandman, that puts "sand" in the eyes of the children, to get them to sleep. Does anyone know this story, and what it's called, in English? (I'm Brazilian, but this is not a Brazilian story. I think it's American, not sure)

Thank you for the help! :)

Good night! :)

Hmm...Moon, i think I know that! :)

The sandman is a fantasy or folk figure associated with sleep and dreaming. The story my mother told me is that the Sandman is a very small man who wears a long nightcap, and if you've been very good, he comes in the night and makes you sleepy by sprinkling sand in your eyes, which will give you very good dreams. That Isn't?

So, I think you got that, i will name some websites, try there:)

The sandman is a character in folklore that puts children to sleep and gives them good dreams by sprinkling magic sand in their eyes (that crust in the corner of your eyes when you wake up.) Hans Christian Andersen wrote a story about him, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ole-Luk%C3%B8ie
