I was reading The Little Mermaid and read that Ariel had planted a weeping willow in her garden plot. So, I was wondering, can you grow a weeping willow underwater?

Ariel also had a fish tail.
They probably just associated the willow with water because usually they cluster around ponds, streams, cricks and under water springs. Willows also have branches that hang down which would not be to their advantage if the sun was above them.

Weeping willows grow real close to the water level, but I don't think you can grow them underwater! lol
