He doesn't want to get married. At least not yet. You have to decide when you've waited long enough. Otherwise he'll wait until he's ready. That's the one good thing about being a man -- you can make a woman wait to get married. Everything else they make you wait. Sex, kids, buying that sports car....

Listen to your heart. . .do you really love him? I mean being with someone for so long doesn't necessarily mean you love them it might just be that you are use to that person. Maybe he's confused and needs more time to think if he really wants to take that step or maybe he's hoping by the time those 2 yrs are here you change your mind and don't want to marry him or maybe he's planning great things and he'll be working hard these 2 yrs so you'll have a great life together. . . .ask him why he wants to wait so long? and listen with your heart Our heads believe all the BS men tell us but our hearts wont ever betray us. If you feel he's worth the wait then wait for him but if you have a little bit of doubt move on you dont want to waste another 2 yrs of your life in a relationship that is going nowhere.

Wait, "he's making you wait." As in, he doesn't want to commit to you right now.
I'd say get rid of him. It's one thing if you're engaged and you are waiting (mutally agreed) 2 years for money reasons or what not.
But, the fact that he's running the show makes me believe he may NOT want to marry or commit to you.
Five years is too long to be without a ring. Especially if you are older then say 24/25.

sweetie if you dont want to wait another two years than roll. you dont have to wait for him. who is he. you are allowing him to start out controlling you and the marriage. five years is long enough. dont give him an ultimatum, but let him know that you are ready and been ready and would like to do it whenever but that two years is not an option. and he if he still wants two years, tell him that you will give him some space and time to think about you and him and the future. and keep it moving. life is too short for the non sense. and to be waiting on something to happen that should have been a long time ago. Is there a reason he wants to wait, like saving money for a house, until he finishes school, whatever? if not and he is just saying wait two years, he may blow you off then and tell you to wait another two, and the only best advice I could give would be to find someone else who doesn't want to wait that long.

Guess what - he doesn't want to get married.
He's just putting it off as far as possible.
