Who says its a good quality?
The stalker who gets his / her victim might call it a good quality, but their victims would disagree, and call it a "fixation" or "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder".

Successful people are rarely just lucky...persistance is a pre-requisite, and you need to enjoy what you do to stay persistant and driven towards your goal. On the other hand, quiters rarely succeed, and don't get to enjoy the feeling of success. People admire others that keep trying to do the right thing, overcoming obstacles with creativity, etc....

Someone who is persistent doesn't give up easily and will continue to do whatever he/she has to do to finish a job, reach a goal, etc. Someone who is persistent can overcome the odds and accomplish incredible things! It's a good thing!

Persistance is the ability to stay with your goals and keep trying even if it is tough, seems as though your about to fail, or you have tried and failed before. It is a good quality because it allows you to achieve the things you desire within reason. People who are disiplined, persistant, dedicated, and fixed on their goals will reach them if they only keep trying. Of course, this only refers to goals that are within reason.
