I have extreme, constant pressure in my abdomen, like the baby is pushing downward. It isn't too painful, just really uncomfortable. I feel like I'm full all the time, especially in the top of my uterus, even if I haven't eaten. I've been getting bad shortness of breath; I go up one flight of stairs and feel out of breath for a good couple of minutes - I've never had that before. My lower back is killing me. I feel pressure when I pee. And I've been having painful Braxton Hicks contractions.
I don't think it's preterm labor... are these feelings normal for 28 weeks?
I've already been through one pregancy before but I don't remember feeling this way until a couple of weeks before I delivered. According to the doc's due date, I still have 2 months!

All of this is normal. Your baby is growing which means your uterus is too. The pressure is from the extra water, the placenta, the extra blood etc. all combined. The shortness of breath is very uncomfortable but it will go away once you drop. This is from your growing uterus pressing on your diaphram. Braxton Hicks can be painful, mine are. Since this is your second they can happen sooner and be more intense. Try laying down and drinking some water. If you have more than 5 in an hour, give the doctor a call.

I've had all the same symptoms as you, and my doc says I'm normal.
I even lost my mucus plug about three or four weeks ago. They put me on monitors, checked for amniotic fluid, and some special protein to see if I was in pre-term labor, but everything checked out fine.
Of course, ask your doc at your next prenatal checkup. :-)
Good Luck!

well every pregnancy is different but i dont see how that is bad with all my pregnancies i had tons of pressure and cramping.. with my last kid i was bleeding almost the whole time and that was considered normal.. i would just ask your dr to ease your mind also you can rent one of those fetal heart moniters, that really eased my mind when i kept bleeding so get one of those.. good luck and congrats on the soon to be bundle of joy

Yea I had those feelings ...but that is kind of early in term...The best thing to do is to see your doctor asap if your are in doubt of something...Also every preganancy is going to be slighty different from the last...also age and health has effects on you also.

Def. sounds like Braxton Hicks, and it could be the way the baby is pressing on you or positioned. He could be pushing up or down with his feet on your organs, right?

It could possibly be normal BUT you need to see your doctor or midwife to make sure. If it WAS preterm labor the sooner they see you and diagnose it the better their chances of stopping it.

It's hard to say what's normal, since every pregnancy is different, and honestly if it's a question of your baby I really don't think Yahoo Answers people are the people to ask.
Talk to your doctor about your concerns.

It does not sound normal. Have you called your doctor? I would do that. Each woman and each pregnancy is different. It is better to be safe though. Congrats!
