Medieval II expansion pack encounters an un expected error and will shut now shut down?

Please help. I just got the expansion pack for Medieval II Total. Everytime I attempt to siege a settlement the game shuts down. The error reads. MII: TW has "encountered a unexpected error and will now shut down." Thanks

Check the manual. You may have to uninstall METW2 first and then reinstall that and THEN the expansion pack. I haven't picked up the expansion pack myself because I'm still working on some campaigns in ME2.
However when I had METW (first version) and you installed the expansion pack Viking Invasion, you lost all your original games and had to start out fresh with new campaigns. Give that a try. If worse comes to worse...contact Creative Assembly and Sega. They'll have your answer.
