How do I put a movie from my computer on a DVD and watch it on TV with my DVD player?

What do I have to download to be able to convert it to the format that will work on DVD?

How do I do it?

And it's a Windows Media Player file. And .avi is it's file extension.

You need a "DVD Authoring package" like Nero Vision express or DVD Factory,.

These take the video file, convert to DVD coded files, add menus if required and then use your DVD burner (You DO HAVE one don't you) to create the final disc,
