Does this mean she's jealous, or just telling the truth? And why do people keep calling me retarded?

I've realized that I like to crack jokes alot, & people tend to laugh at them. & I've also realized that from doing stupid things, that are kinda just me.. they call me 'stupid' and 'retarded' alot. & I don't really appreciate it

Also, since I act so 'retarded', my friends assume that I'm really stupid & can't do anything well. Sure, I'm not the BRIGHTEST person. You can't expect me to be all genius & all. Y'know?

So I've realized with this one friend. I make her laugh alot, & she's always like: Arielle, you're soo retarded! Or something similar.

& I love drawing, so does she. So whenever I draw something it's almost like a reflex, she is always like: Mine's better. Like I drew something today, & she was like: I think mine's better. & I mean, I really do think I'm nice, but I couldn't help but get snappy.

& she's always putting me down. Like: Ew, Arielle, your outfit totally doesn't match. I mean, at least I have a life & I'm not always trying to coordinate.

Idunno..

Alot of my friends say that I'm really forgiving, and I forgive and forget. But I can't help but remember these things

I mean, I have my 'blonde' moments. Where I can do REALLY stupid things, but they're always really funny and people always end up having fun...

And it's just so annoying how some people keep calling me retarded.

Today I tried to talk about it, and was like, you know what? Why are you trying to put me down so much?

And she didn't say anything.

I also brought this sketchbook to class for my visual arts, and she was like: You copied that didn't you?

And I was like, uhh no. I drew it myself...

And she's always being all negative about everything I say, etc.

Nooo, I'm totally cool with the namecalling and stuff. It's just HER. and alot of people push me around, because I seem to give out stuff more freely, such as lending money. And nobody ever lets me borrow money back. Etc.

Of course, I call myself retarded alot. I've just realized that ALOT of people call me stupid and retarded..

Unfortunately people sometimes use labels like 'weird' or 'retarded' in a casual way. They probably don't mean to hurt your feelings and they aren't serious, but it doesn't feel good to be called names.

I would ditch that friend she seems to have something against you.... as for people calling you retarted i dont think they mean you are stupid i believe thats just normal vocabulary in todays society like retarted/stupid= funny i dont know if im explaiing it right but i do not think they mean "this gurl is stupid" as for the drawing I think A) she's jealous or B) She really believes everything she does is better than everyon elses

dont hang out with people who bother you that much, but about the whole "retarded"/"stupid" thing, take it with a grain of salt. i call myself retarded all the time whenever i act stupid in fact. i have two brothers so maybe youre not used to a little banter. chill. they dont mean anything by it it's just their way of saying youre silly. but silly is a lame word.

Don't worry at all !! , i've faced the same problem , and still do and im 22 years old , I'd talk to someone and discuss serious issues and they'd really respect me for it as their first impression about me , And other times i meet friends and
it just happens that i don't discuss anything serious with them,
they'd call me childish etc , anyways , then the way i fought this , i do things to get people to call me : Retarded , Weirdo , Strange etc ... I'd say : thanks for proving my point ... they'd say what ? i'd say most people are very predictable when
they do not understand sarcasm/humor and take it way too serious
and i knew you would say that and you think it's your thought but i really did this to make YOU say what you just said about me , so it's really My idea to get you to say that .
and wow you're predictable just like anyone else , you don't know me well . but i know i got you to say what i wanted you to say .
that will either piss them off or impress them and make them think wow i shouldn't judge people from now on .

I have that problem too because I have a slightly eccentric personality. If they don't mean nothing by it then just agree with them. Say yea I know but your..... ....boobs are uneven, you stink, your fat, you have big feet. Get my drift? If they are saying it out of spite or to be nasty then tell them you really don't want to hang out with them. Don't surrond yourself with people who are going to put you down and let everyone know that you don't like people putting you down.

for you to avoid them calling you "retarded", you should put timings on your jokes in appropriate time and place. it's not bad to show your silly side to others but make sure you didn't go overboard. well, with your friend i think she's just insecure coz everytime you did something, she wants to level with you.. i guess your patient just don't mind her and i know you wont stoop down to her level. *wink*
