You don't really give us much information on what type of doll you wish to make. There are so many different kinds. I'll offer you a web site that will connect you up with all kinds of links on doll making. Do a search for the kind of doll you want to make.

Here's what you should do for your first doll. Draw a pattern for a doll as simple as the shape of a paper doll. Add a seam allowance of about !/4 to !/2 inch all the way around. Transfer this pattern on to a piece of canvas like fabric, that you have pre-washed. Set it aside. Now find a picture of the musician's face that she likes. Get a sheet of iron on transfer paper at an office supply store. Adjust the size of his face to fit the size of your doll head. Now print this head out on the transfer paper. Take this transfer and iron it onto the area of the doll's face. Now you should cut out two ( fabric folded over on it's self ) of the doll shapes. Lay these 2 piceces, right sides together ( printed head on the inside ) and stitch together, leaving about 3" unstitched along the side. Reach your hand inside and turn your doll right side out. Stuff the doll firmly and stitch up the opening. You've made a simple doll. What I would do before sewing the 2 sections together, is to use some fabric paint to paint designs all over the doll ( except, of course, the face. You could also paint on some clothes. The paint and fabric is available in any fabric store.

You can start by getting a pattern from a fabric store, that will give you a start and the basics. You can also try a craft store in your area and they will also have ready made pcs. to make them, ( heads, hands and ready made clothes too.) It is not all that hard if you fallow some easy instructions.
First figure out if you want to make a head or buy a ready made one. But really check out craft stores like Joann Fabrics they have both crafts and fabrics, patterns and people that will guide you if you need help.
