Yes, my mom did. She didn't approve of Megadeth, Anthrax, D.R.I., The 2 Live Crew, Black Sabbath, or N.W.A. Those are the ones I can think of offhand.

Nope. Then again, I was mostly into classical music and theatre music, since those were my career goals.
I didn't become a "rebellious teen" until my late 20s when I got into hard rock and booze. Oy vey, little ole topsy-turvy me!
:-)
So now, in my 40s, on any given night I can be found listening to Beethoven's Sixth Symphony, followed by Vaughan Williams string music, followed by some John Coltrane, then some Nine Inch Nails, and ending with the overture to the musical "Gypsy." It's really quite fun to be eclectic.
Well, gotta go pop in some Squirrel Nut Zippers!

I think most parents disapprove of the music their children listen to. My parents did and their parents before them. There is one difference though, I accept a lot of the music my children listen to. I still don't like the smut stuff though.

Yes, I liked Green Day, Blink 182, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, My dad thought it was "The Devils" music and I got a kick out of giving him a headache and I swear he started to speak in tongues... Or maybe the music was too loud.

Yes! My dad listened to my 45 by Three Dog Night and scratched it up. He was listening for Satin lyrics. I was so pissed.
A forty-five is a record single song with another song on the flip side. Played on a record player at 45rpms.

yes. they hated the cure, the smiths, the dead milkmen really annoyed the heck out of them, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction got me grounded. It always happens. My little sister was a Nsync fan anf they didn't approve of that either.

I can't remember which ones in particular other than KISS.
It the same with me and my kids - I disapprove of some of theirs too. I guess it is part of life.
