show Hillary Clinton on the Dems and Guliani on the Reps as the leading candidates?? Is America coming to an end now?
Do we really have no real candidates out there? Are there any candidates who have the pants to oppose the Iraq war? *coff Ron Paul* and I want to point out I have not decided what candidate I'll vote for..... because choosing a candidate shouldn't be on ...."well he believes in god, or well she has nice hair, and is a Dem" because America needs to save itself, why do we have incompetent candidates???
Your opinion will be much appreciated.

Ok, some one posed an interesting point, if we the people are the government, *which we are I agree* why didn't we impeach Bush, has he not made sufficient merit for this???
Just another question, thanks for your responses.

The polls are irrelevent at this point. In 1975, Jimmy Carter had 2% at this time. Bill Clinton had 2% at this time in 1991. During the summer of 2003, Joe Lieberman led the Democratic field, but was eventually defeated by John Kerry.

The one thing that all dark horse candidates who get nominated have in common is that there is no clear frontrunner for the nomination of their party. Therefore, there is a much greater chance of a Republican dark horse winning the nomination. It is alot easier to defeat Giuliani than to defeat Hillary at this moment.

Ron Paul is probably capable of winning the GOP nomination (Giuliani is pro-abortion and has been married 3 times, so he offends social conservatives, he is center-left on economics, so he offends fiscal conservatives, he offends libertarians by showing a hatred for liberties and constitutionalists by ignoring the constitution even more than Bush; only the Neo-Conservatives would vote for Giuliani in a general election and there hopefully aren't very many of those; Romney used to be a liberal Republican and sounds like a used car salesman; McCain is unspectacular and is therefore failing to raise sufficient money; Fred Thompson bores people at his rallies and has to ask for applause), as is any other 2nd tier candidate (though Ron Paul is the only one with enough money, Huckabee probably could have won the nomination if he had started out in the top-tier, as he does strongly appeal to the Christian Right, the Neo-Cons, and the FairTax people, but you can't win without any money).

I don't see anybody breaking through the top-tier to win the nomination and have a chance at the White House other than Ron Paul, though many potential Ron Paul supporters will be voting for 2nd-tier Democrats such as Richardson, Kucinich, or Gravel. Besides that, it will be really difficult for him to get people many people who support him to register Republican and vote for him.

However, it would be nice if people would vote based on the issues. If that were the case, Ron Paul would be dominating the GOP field and Kucinich would be battling Gravel for the Democratic nomination.

Hillary Clinton has the network of fundraisers that she inherited from Bill Clinton and it is the reason why the Democrats are all out for her because of they will have no problem with money.

On the other hand, Rudolph Giuliani is favored to clinch the Republican nomination because he is a liberal and the Republicans deem it right to have a liberal candidate to challenge a liberal from the Democrats.

Those polled are likely to vote for Hillary or Giuliani, and then they advertise the results. The polls are not true polling of the people who are likely to vote. Candidates pay for these polls, and now you learned something that many else know. Take it easy, your candidate still has a chance. But, I am still voting for Obama.

I also prefer Ron Paul to either Hillary or Rudy, but I wouldn't worry about America coming to an end because either of them are elected. The strength of our country is not in The Presidency, it is in the people; and the people are strong enough to survive poor choices for President.

The President may (or may not) be the most powerful person in the world, but still not be as powerful as you give him/her credit for being.

Have to agree with you. The current pool of candidates suck. I keep hoping one morning I'll wake up and this nightmare will be over.
