28 Days Later. I liked the sequel also, but I really didn't think any of the characters were as memorable as Cillian Murphy and Naomie Harris from the original. Naomie Harris was a bad ***!!
I wish they would have reworked her character into the sequel.

Mine is the City of the Living Dead aka Gates of Hell.
1980 Dir: Lucio Fulci
Stars: Katriona MacColl Christopher George & Janet Agren.
It has being buried alive ,a shower of maggots , rotton corpses , A head drilling scene , A Hanging , Teleporting Zombies , Gut Pukeing , and heaps of other surprises.
A nice little package for an old Euro exploitation movie.

I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE (1943)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Walked_with_a_Zombie

There are no people-chomping creatures because those aren't real zombies. Those are "Night of the Living Dead"-type zombies, nothing like the ones of folklore/myths/legends.

This is a subtle film, moving alone quietly and eerily. I can't imagine a more haunting scene than the young nurse leading the zombiefied woman in her flowing gown through the windswept canefields, voodoo drums sounding in the distance. Then, they meet the guardian-zombie Carre-Four, when she realizes that she has lost the bit of material that will give them safe passage!

True, there is very little violence, but it has its moments. Then, there's the family song, written and performed by Calpyso artist Sir Lancelot.

I truly love Val Lewton's productions: Cat People, Curse of the Cat People, Leopard Man, Isle of the Dead, Body Snatcher, Bedlam, etc., but especially this weirdly titled film. By the way, Lewton did NOT want to use that title!

Here's the sensationalized trailer on YouTube:

OMG! They have Commander USA's zombie song!

I'd almost forgotten this crazy person!

I don't consider "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later" to be zombie films since the Infected aren't dead when they're attacking. They're both great films, though.

I guess my favorite one would be the original "Dawn of The Dead".

Night is a good one . . hmm tough one. Im gonna have to say dead alive, evil dead 2 (i like the 2nd one for some reason) and return of the living dead "looks like blaze is gettin naked in the cemetary again . . . " haha they are great. Whats the jap. horror flicks w/ guitar wolf in them? Those are cool too . . .

New horror is very lame in comparison to the old stuff. You cant have horror movies rated pg-13, that defeats the purpose. Devils rejects was the only decent thing to come out. The remakes are blasphemy.
