UIC is a fantastic choice for health care. It has the most comprehensive health care program in the Chicago area. You'll find a lot of people like to talk down about UIC even though it is a very good school. The average ACT score is about a21-26 and HSPR is 75 with about 25% of freshman in the top 10% of their class. The fact is amongst UIC, Loyola, and DePaul there is no major difference in freshman academic profile.
Depaul's average ACT is 21-26, and average GPA is 3.4, and Loyola's average ACT is 23-28 and average GPA is 3.53.
The difference amongst the schools is demographic in nature. Also, for some reason, a lot of people are biased against UIC. Many of the professors at UIC are intent on giving you a UIUC rigorous style of education at UIC cost. Many do not expect that.
UIC is a research school. It is rated 48th in all reported R&D to the NSF. University of Chicago is rated 54, Northwestern is rated 34th, Loyola is rated 177, and DePaul is rated 340.
UIC's nursing program is a top 10 program. Medicine is the weakest of the healthcare programs. UIC's pharmacy, dentistry, PT, OT, and public health programs are all considered to be very good.

UIC is probably the fifth or sixth best university in the Chicago area.

The best university in Chicago is the University of Chicago. It is one of the best universities in the world. The next best university in the Chicago area is Northwestern, which is in the Chicago Suburbs -- and is also one of the best universities in the US.

Two Catholic universities -- Loyola of Chicago and DePaul are both better than UIC. UIC is the best public university in Chicago -- but is nowhere as good as the main campus of the University of Illinois.

Listen and listen closely. There are only 2 accaeptable schools in chicago to go to and 2 okay ones that aren't great but they aren't absolutely terrible either.

University of Chicago- easily the best school in chicago and it ha sa world class reputation

Northwestern- the other beastly school in chicago

Loyola and DePaul are the two schools that are okay (not good but not bad either). these schools suck cock compared to chicago and northwestern

If you do not go to one of these 4 schools then you are retarded and may as well not even go to college, because you're degree will mean nothing and people will never respect you. These terrible schools include UIC, Robert Morris, North Park, Lake Forest, Roosevelt, and all the other absolutely atrocious non-schools.

If you are willing to go outside Chicago a bit (maybe like 30 miles or so) then the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a great public school. Never go to UIC like you were saying and only go these 4-5 schools that i have mentioned.

I spent a year at the Illinois Institute of Technology. It is a private tech school so you get hands on learning. I know they have a biomedical program. It might be worth taking a tour.
