What are the sources of individual perception? What is the relationship between perception and decision making

This is a question that is going to be on the test in my poli sci international relations class.

Perception is affected by religion, culture, education and other socio-economic factors. Decisions of people are affected by what most of the people perceive to be right. For example, a voter will likely vote for the candidate who is favored by most of the people.

You've got mass media, news, television, coworkers, etc...
You make decisions based on what you perceive from these outlets.
