Depends how MUCH YOU PRINTED in thoses 2 days.

The question is kinda like "I bought a new car, but now the fuel gauge shows empty, Why?" Without knowing how much you'd driver no one can know if there is a problem.

Saw a guy on Yahoo Chat this week, same Question, new Canon IP880, 1 day old, ink low after he printed out 2 ebooks (approx 350 pages)

my HP D2460 has 2 advantages 1. all HP printers have print nozzles on the cartridge so if they get clogged from a cheap refill ink, all I need is a new cartridge. US$14 (in the Philippines) for an original black cartridge but some models of HP have original cartridges as low as US$7. 2. The cartridge isnt too smart. No need to reset the chip inside. All i need to refill it is a bottle if ink, a syringe with a needle and the location on the cartridge where you stick the needle in my country refill ink black or color can be bought for $4 per 60ml bottle in my country, a lot of shops use whats called CIS or Continuous Ink System. If the ink cartridge is a persons lungs then CIS is a scuba tank. Its essentially a system of hoses attached to a heavily modified ink cartridge and attached to a big ink reservoir up to 1 liter or more in size. Conversion + the tubes and ink reservoirs can more than double the price of a printer. The problem with refills is that you run a chance of clogging the nozzle. This happens if you dont use the printer often. The ink stagnates and can solidify. The shops dont get that problem because they have lots of customers and they print many pages every day, otherwise they won't need 1 liter ink tanks. The constant printing washes the nozzles

THEY DONT COME WITH FULL INK CARTRIDGES. IF YOU PUT NEW ONES IN AND RAN OUT YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN A BAD PACK OR CHECK IT TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE A LEAK IN THERE.
KEEP YOU RECEIPT, REFILL THE INK. IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TAKE IT BACK
