Oh my god...I saw the first part of the question and thought that nothing could possibly be worse than being locked in a closet with a scary clown (especially since they give me the heebie-jeebies).
Obviously...I was wrong.
Dead wrong.
I will take the clown HAPPILY over the alternative. (Notice how I avoid even using the MIL word??)

Mother in law. At least we'd have SOMETHING to talk about. And the cookies won't be so nasty after a few hours - no one has rescued you yet and you're starving. That would suck without milk though
