Was he born a quadriplegic or did he suffer an injury then become quadriplegic?

Stephen Hawking is a living example of what happens when you do too many drugs. :-(. Sad but true, the guy was into lots of psychadelic drugs like many of his intellectual contemporaries, democrats most of them. Stay off the LSD and weed and this won't happen to you either.

It is not an injury, it is a progressive disease. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also know as Lou Gehrig's disease), which was diagnosed when he was 20. He did not have any problem before.

He contracted a disease (M.S. -maybe?) when he was a young man- that has gradually worsend over the years... Google Hawkings' name- & see what comes up.
