Lefties, are you either in love with Stalinism or are you simply ill-informed?

You are unjustifiably afraid of Bush and the patriot act. But, if you have your way and Hillary gets in and the Dems cement their power in Congress, look out! Stalin is being reincarnated in the USA by your favorite politicos.

Why do I say "Stalinist?" Because leftist Stalin did not debate his detractors. He did not try to influence people by making logical arguments for his ideology. He simple obliterated his opponents. "End of discussion," as so many of you lefties typically say when you start losing a debate in logic. Your political heroes are becoming masters at destroying their opponents. With the combined power of the White House, Congress and Supreme Court, which Hillary will stack, there will be no stopping their remaking this free country into one hardly recognizable by the Founding Fathers.
"And I get on my knees and pray, I don't get fooled again!"

Judging from some of the answers, the only hope for this country is if there are more logical, rational thinkers who vote than the likes of these Bush haters.

Had you experienced Stalinism you would know how much you sound like a Stalinist yourself. You use partial facts and totally unreasonable assertions of dogma to compare Hilary Clinton and other Democrats to the Politburo, but there is no more justice in your logic than in the Democrats who suggest that Bush and the Republicans are Nazis because of their suspension of habeus corpus and cozy corporate relationships.

Unclench your sphincter. The system that the founding fathers designed has kept the would be dictators of the right from running off with the government, and it can keep any left wing zealots in line as well. We are safe, and always have been.

When you make extremist statements like this, without thought or restraint, you damage your credibility with anyone who is not an extremist. You sound like Osama, with his wild charges and invalid conclusions from partial data. Surely the war on terrorism is about freedom from misplaced zealotry?

Want to join it? Tone down the rhetoric. Try a good old fashioned American compromise.

Hillary isn't a "Stalinist"--and if elected, must work within the Constitution--laws must be approed by Congress, and approved by the curts, etc.

Unless, of course, she were to do the following:
>gather informationt widthout warrents on political dissenters
>conduct warrentless wiretaps and other surveillance
>detain people without benefit of trial or due process
>use "intensive interrogation" techniques against people seized by government agents
>use signing statements by the hundreds to avoid the will of Congress, the courts, and the people
>smear and discharge federal prosecutors who refused to harass political opponents.

But don't worry--Hillery is not going to use the precedants set by the Bush administration. Unlike Bush, she is a loyal American.

Interesting--the neocons are getting more and more afraid that they are going to get a taste of what they've been dishing out. Iguess it looks llike a lot less fun if they're watching theirpolitical opponents getting that kind of power! But--like I said, you needn't worry.

Though it would almost be worth it--just to see the people who have suppported Bush's attempts to destroy the Constitution get what they so richly deserve!

I am neither - iill-informed is being unable to tell the difference between Stalinism and Democratic Liberalism. Actually - that isn't ill-informed that is just sublime ignorance.

Stunning hypocricy would be launching an ignorant rant like this - bereft of any facts - and then labelling anyone who disagrees a "Bush Hater".

While GW no doubt has had to git inventive to git around the surrender monkeys there have been no terrible abuses at home and enemy combatants in or out of uniform don't have the same rights as you and I.
On the other hand Slick Willie and his number 1 Goon Janet Reno trampled more rights like due process and possibly Posse Comitus more than anyone I can think of.
They murdered children, women and men right there on TV and then bragged about it.
Where were all these concerned people and the ACLU then.

keeping their heads down so they didn't get the same treatment.

People must believe in what is right for the country. Rightists and leftists have their own agenda but the people must choose who has legitimate issues.

That's a dumb comparison. Stalin would have favored the government tapping phones without a warrant, just like republicans do. Also, he avoided the press, just like Bush has.

Republicans are so afraid of terrorists that they pee their pants and lay down their freedom at the feet of authority the second we are attacked.
