If they keep this up they will have about 349 goals against by the end of the season.

The goaltending is not the problem. The Defence is.

Lol @ McCabe. He blew a tire again. Well I know it is early in the season but they need to step up their game on D. I don't think their farm players can help.

I don't think they will. They actually have a pretty good defence.

Kaberle finished 5th in Norris voting last year
McCabe was 9th.

Leaf fans get all over McCabe, yet there are 29 general managers who would love to have him.

Personally I put the blame at Maurice's feet. He is the one that draws up the defensive and offensive schemes that this team uses, and it is easy to tell that he is using the same schemes that failed to make the playoffs in Carolina every year. Pat Quinn's system called for greater team defense (and yes, Joseph and Belfour are MUCH better goalies than Raycroft and Toskala) which made everybody look better than Maurice's system of trying to gain puck control. Detroit, Ottawa, and Anaheim have the players to pull that off. Toronto doesn't.

Last night was disgusting. I quit watching when it was 4-1. It's quite possible that the Leafs may have the most goals against at the end of the season...who knows? Today is another day.

they've only played 4 games, they can't be judged just for a bad start, today's lost was miserable though. i think they just have to work out on the defense, and they're also worse starts from other teams, like the ducks, "they call themselves champions with 17 GA in 5 games?" yeah right

One game does not make a season... wait on in, perhaps they'll call up some real talent for their D from the farm.

Tripping on the back of your own net... Priceless.
