I recently dyed a few items black. I wore a pair while fixing the sprinkler system and threw them in the laundry room sink as they were wet. My husband threw his beige shorts in the sink. Anyways, I now noticed that my black dyed capris must have bleed onto his shorts. How can I get these black marks off of his shorts? These shorts are Polo brand and I don't think he is going to be very happy with this accident? Any suggestions on how to get black dye removed from beige shoerts?

Rit makes a Color Remover for exactly that kind of problem. Buy it at the same place you got the black dye.

Use Ritz dye remover to get out the stain but be aware it may pull out the original color in the piece of clothing.

If this happens you may find your base color of shorts to be anywhere from a basic light blue to a golden color.

The fix for this is to use Ritz Whitner. It may return the shorts to gray (if they are blue) or a shade of tan if they are golden.

Remember, any color is better than stains and by using Ritz or any brand dye products is easier on you material than trying to bleach out the dye. It would take a lot of bleach to do this and weakens the material so badly that soon they will be falling apart or getting holes from nowhere.

Wash them in Woolite after they are soaked in cold water a bit. Use the warm setting when setting your wash temperature.
