"Stool patterns are of great concern for parents (and grandparents) but hardly ever worry the doctors. They may normally vary in number from one per week to one after each feeding. The frequency of stooling is not a concern as long as the stool is soft and the baby has no difficulty passing it. Color is rarely important and varies widely. It is also normal for babies to grunt and strain when moving their bowels, often drawing their legs up to their belly. This does not indicate pain or constipation unless the stool is very firm and pellet-like. Remember, as a general rule, when it comes to stools, if it does not bother the baby, it should not bother the parent. If the baby is happy and growing, the stool pattern is fine."

if breastfeeding exclusively... don't worry and just monitor her mood, her intake, her wet diapers, and when she does go- what it looks like.
constipation includes pain and hard textured feces. either one hard lump or small marbles are not good. Also when she goes if it hurts and she's straining more than normal, that's not good.
breastfeeding and pooping:
""Some breastfed babies, after the first three to four weeks of life, may suddenly change their stool pattern from many each day, to one every three days or even less. Some babies have gone as long as 15 days or more without a bowel movement. As long as the baby is otherwise well, and the stool is the usual pasty or soft, yellow movement, this is not constipation and is of no concern. No treatment is necessary or desirable, because no treatment is necessary or desirable for something that is normal."" http://www.kellymom.com/newman/04enough_milk.html
if formula feeding, call your doctor in the morning, but just keep an eye on her through the night.

Are you breastfeeding her? now and returned breastfed babies can pass without pooping an entire week! They infrequently get constipated. as long as she is peeing, ingesting generally, and gaining weight there could be no difficulty. while you're formulation-feeding her the important component is the consistency of the stool particularly than the frequency. babies have their own ordinary, some can pass everytime they consume, others as quickly as each few days. In a breastfeeding help team I heard which you've got the skill to place her in a heat bath, rubdown her tummy, and press gently her legs against her abdomen some cases. Afterwards, take a Q-tip and rub her anus with it, this could stimulate her. If not something happens, do not difficulty, watch for her to do it on her own and pay close interest to the stool's consistency to confirm she's not constipated. sturdy luck!!!

I would worry if she hadn't done for 3 days or more. If it gets to 4 days put a baby-size glycerin suppository in her (or a small sliver of soap inserted the same way) - it'll make her do a smelly in 5-15 minutes!

She should have one at the very least, every other day. I breastfed my baby at that age, but when she was constipated I would use Enfamil ProSobee formula. Its a soy formula. She didnt poop for 4 days once and after one bottle of that, she was giving me 4 days worth of poop! That stuff works wonders. My mom used it with us when we were babies and she swears by it. After using it when my daughter was a baby, I swear by it too.

it depends......formula or breastfed?
breastfed babies can go days without a BM.
formula fed babies do tend to get a lil constipated. this is more likely if you've just recently introduced her to formula or have recently switched brands. when she does have a BM, if it's hard and/or you see her straining, she's definitely constipated. there are several solutions for this from home remedies to prescription aids.

Based on two different of mine who have with infants, yes. One guy recently told me that they don't start to worry for up to 7 days if all else seems fine (and it was his 4th kid and he didn't know). If it persists and you're concerned, take her in anyway - or at least call your pediatrician.

She could be a little constipated. I would call her pediatrician to see what to do.
