why wont my ps3 pick up my computer as media server?

First of all, your PS3 must be connected to the same router as your computer. Next, you need to go to Windows Media Player 11 and enable file sharing. Also, you need to make sure that your PS3 is updated to the latest software version.

Usually it takes my PS3 a few minutes to pick-up my laptop as a media server, so maybe that's the problem.
