Where do I go to get my HCG levels checked? Is there something I can do at home? When I first got concerned about whether I might be pregnant or not it was because one night for no reason I was very sick to my stomache, I had been using the bathroom a lot, eating all the time and my boobs were sore to the touch. Now my I get sick to my stomache but slightly and I've yet to have morning sickness and my boobs are still sore but not so much as they were is this normal? Also, I've thought I was pregnant plenty time before (had been ttc) and all the test came up negative with out a doubt when I took the last two recently they came up positive straight away didnt even take 10 seconds how likely is it that its false? Are slight cramps like you get after you eat and go swimming but hardly painful normal? I know these questions may seem silly but this is my first child and the earliest doctors appoint. I could get was Friday...I'm freaking. I want everything to be going right..

Also before I knew I was pregnant I was a big smoker and two weekends I had gone out and had a few drinks whats the likelihood something could be wrong with my baby? Also if there is no real painful cramps and blood that means there has been no miscarriage right? one more thing (i'm so sorry) If I had, had a miscarriage would the test have come up positive? My last period was Aug. 20th..
a lot of questions that you so much!

My three pregnancy tests showed positive as soon as I dipped them. I drank heavily two nights before I found out that I was pregnant. The doctor said that is nothing to worry about. You get your levels checked by having your blood drawn, usually by the doctor, or they will send you to a lab. You have quite a few symptoms of pregnancy, so it sounds like your positive results were right. Also, it's more likely that you will get a false negative than a false positive. Good luck, and congratulations!
The doctor will ease any fears that you have on Friday, about the smoking or drinking.
Also, the mild cramping is fine, as long as it is not strong, not accompanied by bleeding, or is not limited to one side only (which could signal an ectopic pregnancy). I still have mild period like cramps, even though I am 12 weeks pregnant.
Congrats, again!

Hey, a big congratulations to you all! Exercise - I think you can pretty much carry on as before but you must stop when it starts to hurt or you are struggling. Buying stuff - Well, I would have thought you would need a car seat to bring the baby home back from hospital so that is a must. It will need to sleep somewhere, so a crib will be needed and presumably you will want to go out, so a stroller will be essential too. I wouldn't spend too much on a heavy travel system/ pram as baby will probably move onto a lightweight stroller at 12/ 18 months anyway. Anything else, you can probably get afterwards, like toys & clothes (apart from a few essentials - I am sure you will get plenty of gifts and you can always rush down to the local supermarket for things like that). By the way, I would start buying the big stuff much more closer to the time. You still have lots of time left so I would just look around for bargains and wait for the sales. And this is absolutely none of my business so pls take this in the kindest way, but I remember I was feeling very tired at 8 months and commute to work was horrendous. If you can, I would take some mat leave earlier. The baby might come earlier you know - not just its due date! Take care and look after yourself x

Sounds like you are pregnant. I was told I couldn't get pregnant on my own due to me having PCOS and my husband having only 1% of good sperm. When I took a pregnancy test and it showed up positive, I didn't believe it either and took 4 in all. The doctor wouldn't see me for 4 weeks so I know how it feels doing the waiting game. The good thing about feeling the pregnancy symptoms is that it's confirmation you're still pregnant.
Don't worry about the drinking and smoking before. My friend didn't know she was pregnant until one night she came home from a weekend out and her breasts started leaking and she found out she was almost 5 months pregnant. The best thing for you and your baby is to quit now which it seems you have.
Anyways, for the HCG, they will measure that at your first DR appointment. For me, I did the blood test and then 2 days later I did it again and it doubled like expected. At this time take it slow and don't stress.
Good luck.

OMG!! Wow, where do i start? well first of all, before you continue freaking, stop it because stress can kill a baby! So knock it off and relax!! Then go to a local drug store and get a test to make sure 100% that you are pregnant! And if you are then keep your doctor appt on friday, your doctor will get you tested and get all of your body levels tested and make sure everything is ok with u and ur baby! Next, smoking and drinking is not really a big deal if you didnt know u were pregnant. I didnt know i was a month along and was smoking and drinking and my child was perfect and same with so many other expecting moms. So, dont worry about it, its done and over with, nothing u can do to change the fact that you drank and smoked. Just dont stress about it because stress is the worst thing u can do to that baby and i mean that! Boobs sore is normal, slight cramping is 100% normal, morning sickness, hot/cold sweats totally normal!! Trust me, there is nothing like being preganant. You will feel like crap and be nervous but just keep yourself educated! But the book, "what to expect when ur expecting" it was my bible, it tells u everything from your 1st wk or being preganant until after the baby is born and tells you all about child birth and everything u will ever need to know. There is no tests you can do at home to check ur levels, you are fine...just wait till friday and the doctor will check and u will be fine. You are just in a tizzy because you dont know what is going on. Your hormones are all out of whack when you are preganant. Good luck with everything, you will be fine

I know you must have many worries, especially with trying to conceive and getting negative results, and then having so many symptoms that come and go.
But the fact is, if you got a positive result then the chance you are TRULY pregnant is like 99% so enjoy your good news!
There's no need to check HcG levels at this point, esp. since you are so early in pregnancy they are very likely to be a little low. That is normal, but it might make you worry uneccessarily.
Having a few drinks before you know your pregnant will not hurt your baby. It's moderate to heavy drinking throughout pregnancy that causes harm.
Chances are excellent everything will be fine for you and baby. Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Read lots of books and keep a list of questions to ask your doctor.
Congrats!

If you're feeling symptoms, you have no need to worry. If you had a positive pregnancy test, then you're already there!
Relax--stressing is bad for the baby! Just stay hydrated and rest when you need to. The more you stress, the more you're going to put the baby in danger!
Trust me--experiencing symptoms is a GOOD thing!

If you have to know NOW you can goto ther ER or urgent care to have you HCGs. They will do them 24 hours apart and if it goes down at all or stays the same then a misscarriage is likely.
Good luck
