I used to support McCain but i don't like his immigration stance. Why hasn't the media give Paul a shot? He's had bigger rallies in Iowa than any other candidates.

Ron Paul may as well be speaking Latin, as far as many Americans are concerned. Most people have been so deeply indoctrinated in the way our government wants to do business (politicians getting rich and their friends getting rich) that anyone who comes along and threatens that is somehow "weird".

Media yappers know where their bread is buttered. Instead of reporting, they schmooze and stroke for access. Its how they make a living.

Citizens, do yourselves a favor and get someone in office who will give some BALANCE to the opportunistic politicians in Washington who are getting fat by directing your wealth to their pet programs. Do your own homework and don't let people who don't care about your best interests to direct your vote.

No Republican stands much chance this time, because no Republican has had the courage to admit that the current administration is incompetent. That is why no candidate of any national stature is seeking the nomination.

Never mind the media. The partisan behaviour of the GOP in office and the nasty attitude they demonstrate to any who are not true believers have inclined the people toward a Democrat, any Democrat.

He has integrity but I don't think he will win. Not because of what the media says, but because of his stand on the issues.
Here are his pluses on issues:

He favors ending the war in Iraq which was sold tto the American people premised on false information.
He stands for privacy and personal liberty
He favors ending the war on drugs.

Cons on the Issues:
He is against health care for all Americans.
He is against abortion.
He thinks the US Department of Education should be abolished which will in reality, stretch the divide between the rich and the poor even further.
He favors Big Business. Big business must have governmental oversight or they will absolutely trash the environment even more than already has been done.
He is essentially against peacekeeping with other nations. his non interventionist policy militarily the last thing America needs is to make more enemies internationally. The United Nations has done a lot of good for the world and we should be a positive part of that. Ron Paul wants America to pull out of the UN.

Its not the media...they don't real make a candidate, its the ability of the candidate to raise dollar figures in the 30 million range.... Remember the media doesn't hate him it simply doesn't care about him unless he raise a ton of money and becomes a story that's why he will lose!!

Ron Paul is favored by Yahoo Answerers because of his excellent views on critical issues but the media had not been exposing his platform.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know who will likely win.

This siege mentality among Ron Paul fans is really quite bemusing.
Ron Paul is a nobody candidate. He regularly polls about 1-2% among Republican voters. He has run for president before and been suitably ignored.
He gets press that is more than proportional to this level of support. (it's not like Hunter, Tancredo, Biden or Dodd is getting any more press).
A lot of this press may be seen to be negative. That is because what he argues and proposes is simply wrong (eg that the Fed is privately owned and that eliminating it will stabilize the economy and prices in particular, that the UN and other global organizations control us when in fact we pretty much control them).

I think Ron Paul has a very good chance. All he needs are his supporters to go to the polls for the primaries.

He has a great chance. Look how far he came in just this one quarter...that is from people not really knowing who he was at the beginning of the year...to now. The news should be reporting the news and NOT their opinions!

Honestly, i dont. I would certainly vote for him if he were the republican candidate.

I thought the press wasnt supposed to have an opinion, just report the news.

That right there tells you how "free" our press is.
